Thoroughly enjoyed my trip to Thaung Thut which is on the southern end of the lake. The market wasnt due till the next day so it was very quiet with hardly any other tourists.
The locals simply went about their business.
A long covered walkway ascends the low hill where the temple is. But first, pay thd camera fee.
Then start walking.
On the sides of the walkway are these small sheds.
You will reach some old stuppas and buildings.
Go inside the white building. It’s cool and quiet.
On the outside, it looks like a church but it’s not.
There are nice views at the top.
Colored tiles at the end of the walkway leading to the pagoda.
This was a break from the crowds at the other sites. No market, no vendors, and only 7 other tourists when I was there.
